When I was a little boy
I remember well
Big kids towered four feet tall
You were old if you were twelve
And I would sit and dream for hours
Of when I'll be a man
Make a wish upon the brightest star
Be held in heaven's hand

Now to this day, you know I can't say
All my plan have come to be
I've fallen short in many ways
Of dreams I had for me
But now I know who holds the answer
Right there in His hand
So I will trust in Him alone
And follow Jesus' plan

Now I don't have to wish on a star anymore
Or cast my hopes to the wind
