Wintertime Josh Ritter

Wintertime - Josh Ritter
[Verse 1]
There's a chubby little bluebird callin'
We got mistletoe and holly
And those flowers with the red leaves, I forget
Got the ice in little 'icles
And the sunset quite magical
And the evening's only barely started yet
Folks are on the pond out skating
Carolers practice serenading
Snowmen and women grow out of the ground
And where once it all was peaceful
Now it's boisterous and gleeful
Oh it's wintertime, the snow is coming down

[Verse 2]
There'll be joking and good sporting
They'll be rosy cheeks and courting
As for carriage rides, we all have got our doubts
Still we've laughter and each other
Brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers
Boys and girlfriends who we're not that wild about
And sure there are those we're missing
One's we love gone down in history
We will drop a tear or two then raise a round
To the seasons and their passing
To all the love out there for having
Oh it's wintertime, the snow is coming down
