Inspires me to write, and translate it through a mic
The joy of it all I can't call
Must be the background of Big L on the wall
Rememberin' the days in the park
When the music was set up after dark
Gave me the spark
Any given day when I'm feelin' down
I click on some sounds, mentally boosts my morale
It's been 23 years today since I took a vow
And no regrets, been here for the long haul
I'm on call 24/7
Each time I walk through them studio doors
Makes for opportunities to tour
Whether circlin' the globe
Or here in the States of America
Or any places in particular
Clubs and concerts I'll smash the same
Been doin' this since 2-inch reels and acid tapes
If I'm not shook before my feet touch that stage
It means I might as well retire
Cuz gone is the fire
