And when we got the news that I had metastatic cancer of the liver 15 days before Christmas on December 10, 1981 we just felt utter devastation

It was right here in this hospital that a doctor got me aside in a little room and said "Pastor, I have bad news for you. Your wife will be dead within a few weeks. There's not anything we can do for her. No treatment that we know that we can give her. Her life is over. Just make up your mind, shе's going to die within a few weeks."

That was sad news. I said to thе doctor "we believe in miracles." He said "you're gonna have to have a miracle for her to live."

I looked at him and I said "we're gonna get that miracle."
