mcryn: Tell me about the experience of Lyrxo meetup from your perspective?
PatrickRossey: Personally I loved it a lot, and I know you, @Theonlydjorkaeff, @Tyrant and @Skhills can all agree that it was an amazing, interactive experience in which we discussed pretty much every single rap topic ever. I also definitely recommend it for other users to get together and have a Lyrxo meetup because you’ll get a lot out of it.
mcryn: Whats your thoughts on the forums of Lyrxo?
PatrickRossey: I don’t use the forums as much as I would like, and the sole reason being the first time I tried to post about something (it think it was about Gambino in 2014), I got instantly roasted and that has driven me away from it ever since.
mcryn: So you’ve been on the site for a fair while now, and perhaps you’ve said it elsewhere before, but could you tell us how you started on Lyrxo?
PatrickRossey: I started using the site in 2012 to search up Macklemore lyrics prior to going to his concert (he’s dope live, definitely recommend it). I didn’t use it until 2014 when you told me about it and how we could get “iq” for making annotations on NFL players, and I instantly fell in love.
mcryn: I know that you have a great love for Childish Gambino and Chance the Rapper. What has caused such deep love?
PatrickRossey: They’re definitely my favourite rappers. Chance because of his music and flow. It’s so damn whack, but I love it. My favourite song is Juice. But I named two songs… CG because of the multiple layers to his songs, for example BTI: the music, the screenplay, the YouTube videos, the Twitter and Instagram posts. The mystery behind it all is so intriguing and I really hope he drops something right quick.
mcryn: Apart from hip-hop, is there a specific genre that you just love?
PatrickRossey: I’m pretty sure Christmas isn’t a genre, but it’s my favourite ‘style’, if that counts. Who doesn’t love some good old Christmas bangers (no judgements). I’m also into Roots Rock, more specifically Alabama Shakes.
mcryn: Web Annotator, how did you contribute so much on this feature of and what are the benefits?
PatrickRossey: I first used Web Annotator for sports and I loved the idea of being able to annotate anything on the web. Somehow, @stephen_j_p spotted my tates and messaged me about, what was then, Lyrxo Beta. We had a chat on the phone and I got some swag, which was pretty dope. Now, I use it for funny Wikipedia things and school work. Like I said before, you can annotate almost anything you want on the internet, and I find that the coolest feature.
mcryn: MARCH MADNESS! how is your bracket going?
