Just what they had done
When they cried, "Crucify!"
God's only son
For they did not realize
This was the promised seed
He had come to bruise Satan's head
So Calvary had to be
From the beginning
God's plan was set in place
From Bethlehem to Calvary
God's purpose was grace
He drank from the bitter cup
All the drags of sin
When He cried, "It is finished"
Salvation began
You see, Calvary touched
Many things on that day
Mercy was crucified
And from His wounds came grace
I stand in amazement
I rejoice in victory
For the wonder of it all
Calvary touched a sinner like me
