The Monster Rolf Harris

The Monster - Rolf Harris
I went upon a fishing trip when some miles out to sea, the water churned, a head appeared as gruesome as can be
It had on eye and curly hair and it was such a frightful size, I thought it was some nightmare there, before my eyes
I started running for my life, from that great ugly blob but you can't run far in a row boat, anyway I heard a stifled sob

Chorus
And the monster raised up slowly, from his home, beneath the sea, twitches his whiskers, wiped his eye and then said most plaintively

"Why doesn't anybody love me, why doesn't anybody care?"
"Why doesn't anybody love me? I just don't think it's fair."
"I'm just an ordinary monster, why isn't they won't believe?"
"That I'm just an ordinary monster, with such a lot of love to give."

I stayed with him a while, it seemed the decent thing to do
I tried so hard to cheer him up but he was much too blue

He hadn't known a Mother's love and that love can't be matched, for he had not been born you see, he had of sort of hatched!

So next time that you see a monster, where ever you may be, don't grab for a gun, or scream or run just stand and wait and see

Reprieve chorus
As the monster raises slowly from his home, beneath the sea, he'll twitches his whiskers, wipe his eye and then he'll say most plaintively

"Why doesn't anybody love me, why doesn't anybody care?"
"Why doesn't anybody love me? I just don't think it's fair."
"I'm just an ordinary monster, why isn't they won't believe?"
"That I'm just an ordinary monster, with such a lot of love to give."
