How did you start rapping?
I started rapping “seriously” at the end of freshman year of high school( 2 and ½ years ago) because I was always the type to just write lyrics but not actually rap the lyrics. But then I wrote something to Big Sean’s “What U Doin” which I thought was extremely dope(it wasn’t) and rapped it out, after being pleased with it I dropped a mixtape that summer that I have since disowned. Who are your musical influence?
My musical influences come from Nas, Childish Gambino, Big L, Kendrick Lamar, and J Cole. J Cole’s “Friday Night Lights” project gave me super hope that i could rap if I put forth lyricism that people could relate to
Tell us how Colors came about
With the love its gotten on Rap Lyrxo, Colors is an easy pick to talk about. Colors came about literally out of the blue….i had had the beat in my archives just sitting there for a while and i didn't know how to rap on it…then I wrote the first bars “How ludicrous, and I ain't Ludacris so I’ll allude a Chris in Budapest and spray that shit right back at you with this” and I kept filling in. The second verse was all pre written for another song that I did that didn't fall thru so, I used it and it worked. Either way I was just spitting bars
Tell us how Fade Away & Thinking Minds came about
Then we have Fade Away and Thinking Minds. These both came with me rapping with my two fav emceees on RG they both wrote goat choruses and all I had to do was right the last verse for both of em….I have real chemistry with both of these guys forreal
How do you feel about your ranking?
I feel really good about my ranking being the second best rapper on a forum with so much talent is an accomplishment in itself when you think about all the people who’ve dropped quality projects like Psyonik and Fresh Air. (Cop Przm Dstrct and TFOA)
Do you have any other projects in the works as of now?
I was gunna hold this announcement for a little longer….but I’m dropping an album in late May or Early June titled “New Horizons” and I’ve already got all the beats from it. I’m working on doing videos for it and I think you guys will mess with it a little ;). Also I may be doing a collab tape with Psyonik or Aaron Deux, but since we’re all doing solo shit it may be tough
