I can't believe I'm trying
To talk to him this way
You see, I listen to this call-in radio show
On the way home every day

Seems like there's always somebody
With a story like mine
And it took me a while to get the courage to dial
But here I am on the line

"I'm a first time caller
Hello, can you hear me?
Am I on the air?
And if he's out there tonight, alone
Tell him to just come home"

I can't blame him for leaving
Under the circumstance
We both said a lot of things we didn't mean
