I've watched the sunrise a million times through half-lidded eyes
That have seen too much by now, and the world has left me

Torn up, beaten, broken and bleeding
I'm fighting a never ending war
I've worn confidence like a bulletproof vest

But what is it exactly that I fight for?
I'm bracing for the end, worn out and weary
Yet I ponder the sole purpose, the reason why I'm fighting

I had been fighting
Not so I could survive, but so I could keep protecting them

I stand in the midst of this battle
I'm sure of my decision and I will rise once more, without fear

I will keep holding on this flame, burning hot within my veins
I'd thought it would destroy
Everything, but its heat just gives me warmth

I'm watching over them now
This is the reason I keep fighting
I'll use this strength and guard the ones
That I treasure, as long as I'm still breathing
