Dreamland Will Varley

Dreamland - Will Varley
[Verse 1]
Shadows vast on spheres casting darkness 'cross the borders
Rotating in formations bound for chaos and disorder
Our hero now dressed all in red recites poems for his daughters
Just before the lights go out in dreamland

[Verse 2]
Behind screens the man's machines build empires of information
While gleaming blindfolds and masks are sold as answers and salvation
As if the only way to prove we are here is through distraction
And to wait until the lights go out in dreamland

[Verse 3]
From the endlessness, a familiar voice speaks out a messagе
While flashing lights and tailbacks stretch out far behind thе wreckage
And those shadows cast a sunset that could bring tears to the masses
But it is just the view when the sun goes down in dreamland

[Verse 4]
Wars of misdirection still shed blood out in the streets
Over ancient lines in sand designed to define identities
As if those murderous kings and queens ever cared for you and me
They were just trying to save themselves before the lights went out in dreamland

[Verse 5]
While waters rise above the skies that's slowly suffocating
And the gold parades try to persuade us it's a grave of our own making
Well, soon the air they breath will be more precious than the diamonds they are saving
Oh, the Earth will laugh when the lights go out in dreamland
