87th Street I Remember 2006

87th Street - I Remember 2006
I remember while on 87
Walking through that neighborhood
You said something about how you grew up there
Several branching cul-de-sacs
I feel my head racing
Thinking of all the different paths

I ask you why you brought me here
And you replied
"Don't you see all that farmland to the side?"
"Look down Lodgebush, then you’ll see
Something that I left for thee."
You giggled, but I didn't find it funny

You led me over to a plot of sand
Then handed me a shovel to dig a hole
And about three feet deep into the ground
I uncovered a wooden box with a lock
You told me to put the box on thе ground
And then took the shovel from my hand
And smashеd open the box with the spade end
And then pulled out a book of some kind

"You see, I know what they're looking for,"
You whispered as you handed me that book
I sifted though the pages and saw sigils throughout
You leaned in close and told me
"These symbols are powerful
And I can’t trust myself with them anymore."
