Tried it by the book over and over
Hoping that things would change
Heard a voice in the Spirit

When I look back over my story
God has been there every step of the way

If there was no buildings, church on a hill
I'd still be connected 'cause I know my God is real
If there were no words written on a page
Whatever way He'd see fit, He still gon' make a way
It's a relationship more than religion that gets us saved

Been in church all these years and we learn tradition
Showing a form of God but we lost sight of the mission
No matter who you are, God is listening
When you call on His name, He'll give you direction
