"Y'know there was, uh, a verse of a song, Mac. I know you don't remember the whole song, but I like the melody so much that, I'd wish you'd sing 'Utah Carl', and, uh, tell me again, just where you got it?"

"Well,  I got this song from Clarence Lee. It's a beautiful melody, and, uh, it was a favorite among the cowboys."

"Where'd  you say Lee came from?"

"Uh, Lee, uh, is from Southern Utah. I think he's still down there. I think he still lives near Bluff, Utah. And, uh, he is the son of Jack Lee, the famous outlaw that was the original of Lassiter of Zane Grey's Riders of the Purple Sage."
