Variation on an Old English Theme (Live) - The Brothers Four
[Intro]
Right now, in the Unites States today there are two types of phonograph records being manufactured
One is the thirty-three and a third long play album, the other is the forty-five RPM single record
Isn't that interesting?
To date, our two most successful single records have been "Greenfields" and "The Green Leaves of Summer"
Now, this leads us to believe
That if we're to have any future success in the singles records markеt, the word "green" must be included in thе title
So, right now, we'd like to do for you, our soon to be released single record

[Verse 1]
I found my love in a grocery shop
Selling pickles and eggplants and bottles of pop
She asked me to try her asparagus tips
And I fell for the smile on her ruby red lips

[Verse 2]
Green stamps were all she gave
Green stamps were all I took
Green stamps were all I saved
So, I pasted them all in my green stamp book

[Outro]
Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Ha-ha
