[Chorus]
Can you hear me? I’m trying to get through
If you’re out there, please tell me I’ve reached you

[Verse 1]
This is flight log one hundred eighty-two
Last radio received four years ago
Currently, four light years away from Earth
We have total radio silence on the Astronomer shuttle
And we are now passing by Proxima Centauri
With no word as to what we ought to do next
Our rocket is good for another hundred years or so
But we’ll probably stop on one of these planets
If you receive this message, please respond

[Chorus]
Can you hear me? I’m trying to get through
If you’re out there, please tell me I’ve reached you
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah

[Verse 2]
This is the crew of Astronomer checking in on our last message
Twelve years since we sent it and still no response
Uh, we have set up a base on the previously specified planet
Food is still in supply, the soil here is arable
Um, if you don’t respond to this, we may not send another message
Things are going very well here
Continued Earth support is likely not required
This is the crew of Astronomer, signing off
