Nuts in May Ivor Novello

Nuts in May - Ivor Novello
(Verse 1)
When I was little I used to play
A rather jolly game known as Gathering Nuts in May
Now I am older still
I have not quite lost my skill
See the nuts I have gathered today

(Chorus 1)
I do like gathering nuts in May
If you've a dimple
It's very simple
All you need is a smile that's sweet and shy
And a sort of twinkle in your eye

Here I come gathering nuts in May
When I detect them
I soon collect them
They stand all round me waiting to be picked
I catch their eye and something tells me I have clicked
I go like that and in a minute and a half
They're on my staff

(Verse 2)
Experts agree that there seem to be
In my collection nuts of each kind and variety
Shows what a girl can do
If she takes the trouble to
And no trouble is too much for me
