Condemned to drown in contrition

Fires engulf the horizon
To seal the fate of all
The mask is severed from faces of torment

Lurch into the headwinds
Into the deafening silence
Into the sea of lifeless bodies
Atrophied yet messianic

Eternally reborn, unreprieved
Endowed with misery, without a shred of grace

Stalked along this dead path by impending rapture
Cancerous premonitions stain the perspective
The erasure enclosing
Advanced with a sickening prevalence

Draw apart this opening to the soul
And see no light through the cracks in the surface
Too far inside this labyrinth of chaos
Atrophied yet messianic

Writhing in the vacant expanse
To ash and dirt, minds transform
The dread of totality is self-realising
