It's really good to see you
So long since you’ve been home
You look so good life has been good to you
But the lines on both our faces show how long you've been away
You lose a half a lifetime when you look the other way

He spends a lot of time these days
Just like an old sleeping lion in the chair
He's still so strong you know it
But the work is here and there
And he’s so proud...
He'd never let you know
There's so much to talk about
But anyway... it's so good to have you home

And I liked standing out here watching the people all arrive
All the funny ways that people re-unite, they're so alive!
Shrieks of joy
Tears of joy
It would do anyone's heart the world of good to come stand here
On random days, and just imagine
That you hadn't seen your own for years and years
And then to realise...
Just what you've had all this time

Every minute’s like an hour
The excitement’s hard to take
It's your loved one that you know well
Still, you think of what you’ll say
Precious memories come flooding through
And tough ones too...
