Another Age (Live) - Phil Ochs
[Intro]
Racing between mysticism and revolution, as we all do these days
If God were a computer, undoubtedly he'd blow up the world
Which would be the answer
If not, we have to come to a political revolution, unfortunately
So this, in the hopes of saving the world, here's a revolutionary—
A modern American revolutionary song
It's called "Another Age," and it was written
I started to write it in Hawaii when I ran across a solider
Who was just walking around Hawaii having come back from Vietnam
And he wasn't seeking employment

[Verse 1]
There's a man walking 'round the island with a snake cane
He picked it up in Thailand from a hurricane
And you know he's not gonna go there
He's been one time too long
Now all the games are gone

[Verse 2]
The younger boys are drowning in a shallow sea
The night belongs to snipers in palm trees
And their sabres flashed like lightning
In the charge of the last brigade
They must have been afraid
