Where the light filters in
On the window sill
A cactus in a bowl
Slowly grows
Each morning when i wake
I don't notice it get tall
But in pictures from 2 months back
It looks small
Spiny little guy
You don't envy other cacti
You don't rush to bloom
I should try to be more like you, oh
It looks out from the glass
To a garden of green green grass
Nothing outside there has spikes
It doesn't mind
It has a little drink
A water splash which beads
Onto its prickly flesh
That's all it needs
Spiny little guy
You don't envy other cacti
You don't rush to bloom
I wish i were more like you
