Do What It Takes Zach Sherwin

Do What It Takes - Zach Sherwin
[Verse 1]
I'm an artist, it's what I'm meant to do
But food isn't free and rent is due
So to earn a little dough and tide me over for a while
I'm gonna participate in a clinical trial
I've signed the papers, I've waived my rights
I'm gonna stay for 30 straight days and nights
It's a sacrifice, putting my life on pause
But I'm at peace with it, it's all for the cause
I may gain weight or get quite depressed
Or it might affect my drive for sex
Dry mouth, appetite suppress
But who cares about side-effects, as long as they write the chеcks
And the crazy part is, I've started to see thе drug-company
As a fellow artist, we're not so different, a dream and a vision
Me; a script, them; a subscription
These pills I'm popping are like a first draft
Of the drug that they're work-shopping
And the way I physically react to the doses
Like a table read with feedback and notes
And their determination to make that drug
Even if it makes my hair fall out is in turn inspiring me
To take that drug, even if I go bald, I'm going balls out
The passion is beautiful, little old me and big pharmaceutical
A fever of excitement, I'm getting a headache a rash
And the chills and the shakes, I will do what it takes
