King of Hearts Going Spaceward

King of Hearts - Going Spaceward
Once upon a time, there was a man
Whose name was known throughout the land
As the "King of Hearts”—a name he earned
For all the poor girls’ hearts he burned

With just a smile and wicked words
He could win the love of any girl
He would be her world, ‘til he was done
And he left that girl for a different one

One day, a girl of sterner stuff
Decided she had had enough
To make sure he caused no more pain
She would beat the King at his own game

She said, “I know, I know, I know I’ve got a lot to do
But I know, I know, I know I’ll make sure everything works through.”
Let the trumpets sound. Let the kingdom know
That the King of Hearts will be dethroned

So, she met him at a party
He was going "hardy har" with his buds at the bar
Trying real hard to look sharp
He had a way with words. She admired his book smarts
He tapped her on the back, said, "I love how you look. Are
You seeing anyone?"
She said, "No."
He said, "Great. I'll pick you up tomorrow night at eight."
"It's a date."
And with a couple days and a smattering of flattering phrases
They were off to the races
